The first stretch of the month has the capacity to be somewhat enjoyable, though it continues the “dramatic” social and interpersonal situations of May. By the 25th, questions about relationships will become more clear, direct, and bright. Any illusions you had will begin to fade.

Wijland Sessies (Meadow Sessions): weekly DJ-sets on the most beautiful spots in Groningen

Festivals have been cancelled until the first of September, we spend the holidays at home or on a balcony and we only see bar owners (in a sober state) on the screen. How can you get a bit of a festival vibe this summer in your own home? Allert de Haan and Tonnie Buist came up with a solution. The duo produces video’s with live DJ-sets under the name ‘Wijland Sessies’, translated Meadow Sessions, on typical spots in Groningen.

Just because all events are banned, does not mean that art stops. Of course, art will exist for as long as people manage to exist. Being creative is a natural impulse that has been with us since we first started molding clay figures and painting on cave walls. At its best, viewing art can help you step outside of yourself. It’s beneficial to broaden your range of perspectives and emotions. Conversely, when you find art which does already match your own perspective and emotions, you feel warmly seen and known. Both functions are important to exercise, especially now. Therefore, I’m now directing you to a small sampling of art you can engage with online.
